The New Port Haliguen Quiberon

Port Haliguen QUIBERON is a very busy marina with lots of nautical activities that contribute to the local economy throughout the year. There are 1,200 moorings in the port for pleasure craft, fishing boats and passenger ferries.
Port Haliguen enjoys an excellent location, in the Morbihan département, in the South of Brittany, near beautiful beaches and the islands of Belle-Île, Houat and Hoedic.
Every year, it accommodates more than 11,000 overnight stopovers. To maintain the quality of the harbour services, we need to modernise our equipment and rejuvenate the whole of the Port Haliguen site and its district.

The port currently has two basins. These need to be reorganized to improve management, enhance the service quality and favour tourism.

Port Haliguen Quiberon would like to make improvements with regard to:
- The natural silting up of the harbour, which limits the services the marina can provide.
- Road infrastructure and car parking, which is difficult.
- Access to shops.
- Installations ashore and in the water, which are showing their age.
A large renovation project at Port Haliguen is now underway. It involves:
  • The large-scale dredging of the west dock (Bassin de Castero), which will be followed by the east basin (Bassin du Porigo).
  • The complete re-planning of the quays, pontoons and commercial premises.
  • The creation of a lively centre around the basin. This will improve the services for boat owners, develop the port and strengthen its identity.
  •  A sensible extension of the number of moorings.
The new Port Haliguen will be more practical, and will meet the expectations of its current users, while anticipating future requirements.  A comprehensive range of technical, commercial and cultural services will be offered to its users.
